Being the first to sign on to the coalition has proven to be less than advantageous for Yahadut Hatorah. It is now clear that Bayit Yehudi and Shas received a great deal more by waiting to sign near the deadline.
MK Yisrael Eichler sent an angry letter to Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu explaining that since his party received so little in the coalition agreement, he and his colleagues in Agudas Yisrael do not feel bound by the agreement. The same sentiment seems prevalent in the Degel faction of Yahadut Hatorah. They explain that they signed on early to close a deal but it is not evident that Bayit Yehudi and Shas were rewarded for dragging out the talks and waiting until the deadline to join on.

Netanyahu is waiting for this. He will sign with Herzog and tell all the chareidim “you had your chance”. As the saying goes “the bulls make it, the bears make it, the hogs get ………..
Really, UTJ didn’t receive enough for its 6 seats?! All this chazerai of UTJ, Shas and B”Y may ultimately lead to a strictly secular coalition down the road. And the religious parties will have no one to blame but themselves (though, of course, they’ll all be screaming discrimination) should it happen.
Ask not what your country can do for you. But ask what you can do for your country.
This is a sad soap opera!
This coalition can NOT survive!
As the saying goes: Good guys finish last.
Haha at least they admit they got hosed due to their amazing negotiating tactics
They’re a disgrace all they do is empty out the treasury
Why are they in a government that funds abortion and
Wow, a new milestone has been reached. Each of these 6 comments would fit nicely on any of the secular anti-Semitic Israeli “news” sites. With friends like this . . .
An agreement is an agreement, don’t play games. They could’ve held out, but instead they opted to go early. Don’t blame the PM for your own bad negotiations.
Welcome to politics!
“…but it is not evident that Bayit Yehudi and Shas were rewarded …”
I had to reread this sentence a few times until I understood it should say ‘now’ instead of ‘not’
you run a great news site but the accuracy is awful, you need a proofreader.
